Welcome to my Macintosh Recapping blog. I’m an Australian-based web programmer (in Sydney) and I occupy my spare time repairing and restoring vintage Apple Macintosh computers. It’s my aim to try and keep as many of these old computers operational as possible.

One of the most common problems with old computers is the failure of capacitors. In order to keep the computers running, old capacitors need to be replaced with new ones, and this process has come to be known as “recapping”.

This site is designed as a resource for people who want to have a go at recapping their vintage Macs themselves. Check the Resources menu for high resolution images and capacitor guides for over 30 different computer models. More will be added over time.

The following blog details my recent recapping projects. Enjoy!
