Macintosh IIci

The Macintosh IIci has a cluster of five surface mount electrolytic capacitors near the startup circuit at the top left of the board (as per the orientation below). As a result, a Mac IIci with capacitor leakage will often result in a computer that won’t startup at all. If you have a Mac IIci and it hasn’t been recapped, you must get it done before it’s too late. The images shown below have a light blue radial capacitor at the top left that should not be there. It was put there by one of the previous owners and on a normal IIci board would be a 47µf 16V surface mount electrolytic capacitor.
